Information about the Centres of Excellence (CoEs)

The European Centres of Excellence (CoEs) for High Performance Computing (HPC) applications were selected following the calls under the European Research Infrastructures. They promote the use of upcoming exascale and extreme performance computing capabilities and scale up existing parallel codes towards exascale scaling performance. Furthermore, they address the skills gap in computational science in the targeted domains by specialized training for increased adoption of advanced HPC in industry and academia. They bring together European world-class knowledge and expertise in applying established mechanisms, user-driven development, performance tools and programming models for HPC, and co-design activities for real systems based on leading-edge technologies. On 1 January 2023 the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) launched 10 Centres of Excellence to support research and innovation actions that will develop and adapt HPC applications for the exascale and post-exascale era. Learn more here.
